Our Ten Day Introduction to Dog Grooming Course is designed specifically for beginners. Whether you are considering a new career in grooming or simply want practical, hands on skills to maintain your own dog, this course gives you a strong and supportive foundation.

We limit every course to a maximum of four students to ensure:
• Personalised hands on guidance
• A calm and friendly learning environment
• Continuous instructor support
• Real practical experience
You will train inside a professional working salon and gain confidence from day one.

What You Will Learn
Over ten structured training days, you will build essential grooming skills through real life practical experience.
By the end of the course, you will confidently be able to:
• Bathe, brush and fluff dry different coat types
• Safely detangle and prepare coats for grooming
• Clip nails and clean ears correctly
• Carry out full groom sessions for short haired and double coated breeds
• Understand the basics of salon hygiene and health and safety
• Experience customer care, salon setup and workflow
You will leave with real practical knowledge and a clear understanding of how a professional grooming salon operates.

To enrol, you must be at least 16 years old, have a genuine love for dogs, and be calm, patient and willing to learn.

Upon completion, you will have the foundation to apply for grooming assistant roles.
Students who wish to continue their professional development can progress onto our Twenty Day Commercial Stylist Course or our Thirty Day Commercial Pet Stylist Course for more advanced, career focused training.

Days Monday to Friday
Time 18:00 to 20:00
Start dates arranged individually to suit you and salon availability
Each day begins with a clear plan and structured learning goals. On Day One you will receive a full salon induction including safety procedures and course expectations.

Students who successfully complete the course and meet the required standards will receive a Toni’s Pet Spa and Training Academy Certificate in Introduction to Dog Grooming.
